Starr Restaurants is opening a new Japanese concept at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, Florida. This not-yet-named, 200-seat restaurant is set to open in early 2011 and will feature a modern twist on traditional Japanese dishes. Sedso created a variety of graphics to tease the opening of the new Starr restaurant. A 15 x 25 foot barricade was erected to hide the construction process within the space and we created large format graphics to cover this wall as well as postcards and pop-up banners for promotional purposes. Without a name or logo for the restaurant, the challenge was to design in such a way that gives the sense of a Japanese feeling while remaining somewhat ambiguous.
